In Between the World and Me, Ta-Nehisi Coates offers a deeply personal and haunting portrayal of the black experience in the United States, which was founded on and bolstered by racism and oppression. Whether you have read it already and want to revisit it, or you have never heard Coates’ name before, we invite you into this conversation. This study will offer supplemental readings to add to your understanding of the issues Coates addresses and posit questions to encourage self-reflection regarding the ways that we as white folk are complicit in this racist system.
