Our work as white anti-racist leaders in SURJ requires that we strive to confront, disrupt, and dismantle white supremacy. But what about internalized white supremacy? How can do we even begin to confront what we’ve internalized? And how do we support new folks in this work?

This training will build on concepts presented at our April Mass Meeting from a common understanding of internalized racist oppression (IRO) and internalized racist superiority (IRS). We’ll explore how People of Color and white people are socialized to support and maintain white supremacy culture and how internalized white supremacy manifests in our own lives.

Additionally, this training will provide concrete tools for you to engage others. Our hope is that you will take these tools and pass them on in conversations with other white folks in our movement.

Attendance at the April Mass Meeting is not necessary to join this training.
