Join the Open Table and Freedom Church of the Poor to walk the “Stations of the Cross” downtown and confront the reality that systemic evils lead to death at home, and in Palestine.
From The Freedom Church of the Poor: The Freedom Church of the Poor Kansas City Collective is part of the network of the Freedom Church of the Poor through the Kairos Center for Religions, Rights, and Social Justice. We have recently established an in-person community here in Kansas City and we meet twice a month for dinner and worship (the 3rd Wednesday of the month at Bethel Neighborhood Center and 4th Sundays of the month with The Open Table KC). We also work in collaboration with movements for justice in Kansas City and beyond, including the Poor People's Campaign. We are looking to become a collective of individuals, organizations, and congregations within the city who are seeking to embody the call to do justice as an expression of our faith, especially toward building the movement to end poverty led by the poor.
